56 Kits for the identification of chemical toxic substances (CTS) are solutions of pure CTS in chloroform, which were used as standard solutions. They are subject to detoxification before burial in a hazardous waste site. It is most desirable to use minimal amounts of a single universal reagent to destroy all three CTS. Such a reagent can to become m -chloroperoxybenzoic or peracetic acid, which quickly oxidizes all three CTS at 20 - 25°С. Lewisite is oxidized to 2-chlorovinylarsonic or 2-chlorovinylarsic acid, mustard gas to the corresponding sulfoxide or sulfone; the kinetics of oxidation of nitrogen mustards is more complex, the final products are alkoxyamines [7]. Oxidation of sulfides and oxidative hydrolysis of alkylaryl sulfides by monoperoxоsulfate anion were studied. The reaction rate increases sharply with an increase in the water content of the solvent. The rate of oxidation increases with increasing electron-donating properties of substituents in sulfides. Negative values of enthalpies and entropies of activation of the studied processes were obtained. Oxidative hydrolysis of thioaryl ethers is a much slower process due to high values of the activation enthalpy, while the influence of the solvent and the effects of substituents are similar to similar effects in the oxidation of sulfides [8]. The oxidation of 2-chloroethylphenylsulfide by problems of destruction of chemical weapons. peroxides as means for disposal of toxic chemical warfare substance Sin 20% aqueous N -methyl-2-pyrrolidinone at 4 - 22°С was studied by gas-liquid chromatography (GC). The end product of the reaction is the corresponding sulfone with intermediate sulfoxide formation. Under the conditions of a pseudo-first-order reaction at pH 4.5, the oxidation of sulfide to sulfoxide occurs so quickly that the authors were unable to measure the rate constants in the studied temperature range. At a ratio of "sulfide : peroxyacid" of 1 : 2, pH 9.5, and 4°С, the oxidation of sulfide to sulfoxide is a relatively slow reaction (the half-life of sulfide is 8 min) [9]. Mustard sulfoxide and nitrogen mustard N -oxides are solid substances and are not capable of skin resorption. The table 1 shows data on the toxicity of some oxidation products of mustard analogues. It can be seen that the oxidation products of nitrogen mustards are about an order of magnitude less toxic compared to the
