The article examines ways to ensure the stability of the financial system of Ukraine in modern conditions. The essence of the concept of "financial system stability" is analyzed. The approaches to its assessment by domestic and foreign scientists are studied. It is established that the use of different terminology indicates the complexity and, at the same time, multifaceted nature of the term. The National Bank of Ukraine is the main institution that assesses the state of financial stability. It is emphasized that the definition that exists in the scientific literature is incomplete, since it does not take into account all the components that can affect the efficiency and, accordingly, the stability of the functioning of the financial system.
