This thesis examines the competency-based approach as a systemic methodology for teaching the translation of domain-specific terminology. The interpretation of the concept of ―competence‖ in key EU documents and professional associations is analysed; the structural components of a translator's terminological competence are defined; and a methodological framework developed based on the requirements of EMT and NOS standards is characterized. Keywords: competency-based approach, terminological competence, translation, specialized terminology, professional standards. In the contemporary context of increasing demands for the quality of translator training, the formation of terminological competence has become particularly relevant. Translation increasingly facilitates complex and dynamic communication processes, making effective professional interaction impossible without a profound command of specialized terminology. Therefore, teaching the translation of domain- specific terms stands as a key element in the training of future translators.
