205 in modern pedagogy is aimed at shaping a personality capable of creative activity, professional self-development, and productive thinking. The issue of intellectual development takes on particular significance in the works of scholars who emphasize that a competent specialist must be prepared to act in conditions of uncertainty and rapid social change. ―The effective use of human abilities in the information society is impossible without a quick and flexible response to the dynamics of changing situations and environments, acceptance of diversity in work, and a focus on utilizing innovations‖ [8, p. 74]. This principle is directly linked to the development of critical thinking, creativity, and the ability to solve problems in unconventional ways, which are important components of intellectual education. Domestic pedagogical thought at the beginning of the 21st century is largely oriented toward a human-centered approach, which views the philosophy of education as ―a new theoretical discourse in domestic pedagogy and the social sciences as a whole‖ [9, p. 439] and emphasizes the need to transition from a knowledge-based paradigm to a person-centered one. ―Education must take on an innovative character, and its students must acquire the ability to lead an innovative life and engage in innovative life activities‖ [9, p. 13]. In this context, intellectual education is directed toward the formation of a personality capable not only of reproducing knowledge but also of creatively applying it in new life situations. Particular attention should be paid to the assertion that ―it is necessary to educate not a blindly obedient person, but a personality who would act consciously and independently on the basis of acquired knowledge and their own analysis of the situation‖ [10, p. 37]. This approach defines modern intellectual education as a process of developing subjectivity, independence, and self-reflection in the individual. Emphasis is also placed on the role of creativity in modern education, namely: ―creativity, innovation, and creative activity serve as integral characteristics of a creative individual, the formation of whom is now a strategic goal of education‖ [11, p. 500].
