50 systematic analysis of the existing system of social service providers for children of this category in Ukraine. An analysis of the current legal framework demonstrates that the category ―children of combat participants‖ is not enshrined in Ukrainian legislation as a separate legal status — their legal position is defined indirectly, through the status of the parents in accordance with the Law of Ukraine ―On the Status of War Veterans, Guarantees of Their Social Protection‖ [4] and the Law of Ukraine ―On Social and Legal Protection of Servicemen and Members of Their Families‖ [2]. Social support for such families is carried out on the basis of the Law of Ukraine ―On Social Services‖ [1]. Thus, despite the absence of a separate legal status, children of combat participants constitute an independent social category, the support of which is ensured by an extensive network of providers under various jurisdictions. The contemporary system of social service providers for children from families of combat participants in Ukraine is multilevel and polystructural. A summary characterization of the main levels, entities, and types of services is presented in Table 1.
