The presentation of the documentary took place "Petro Solomatin: chess player, teacher, journalist"

On September 22, the library hosted a presentation of the documentary "Petro Solomatin: chess player, teacher, journalist", which was prepared by director-cameraman V.G. Kirchev and dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the birth of a prominent Mykolaiv resident. The event was attended by well-known workers in various fields of science and culture, journalists, chess players, employees of archives, museums and libraries.

During the event, guests not only watched the film, but also talked with the family of P.I. Solomatin and his fellow journalists, chess students. Many warm words were said that day about Peter Ivanovich, who wrote hundreds of articles about old Mykolayiv and prominent personalities whose name is associated with the history of the city. He was a true chronicler of events since the 40s of the twentieth century, taught the reader to love his city, to be proud of its history, to pay attention to the smallest details around. He was a faithful guardian of history, striving to preserve it for the future.

The book exhibition "From the notebook of a local historian" was presented to the participants.
