The article examines the use of color vocabulary in English idioms. The semantic and functional characteristics of idiomatic expressions containing color components are analyzed. Their role in reflecting cultural and cognitive features of native speakers is determined. Special attention is paid to the symbolism of colors and translation challenges associated with such idioms. Keywords: idiom, color symbolism, English language, phraseology, semantics, translation. In contemporary linguistic studies, idioms are regarded as an essential component of the language system, reflecting the cognitive and cultural characteristics of its speakers. Particular attention is paid to idiomatic expressions containing color terms, as they carry significant symbolic meaning and perform not only a nominative but also an expressive function. In the English language, such constructions are highly productive and widely used across different types of discourse [1]. Idiomatic expressions belong to the phraseological layer of language and are characterized by semantic unity, reproducibility, and relative structural stability. Their
