174 The third vector refers to propaganda directed toward the international information space and aimed at shaping a unified vector of public opinion across different countries [4, p. 114]. Since the outset of the war, Russia, through social networks and controlled world media, actively used information influence to discredit Ukrainian statehood and to illegitimize the authorities of Ukraine. Russian propagandists cultivated on international platforms the idea that Ukraine as a whole is an ―immature‖ state dependent on Russia [5, p. 14-15]. In recent years, to spread manipulative narratives about Ukraine and undermine international trust in Ukrainian statehood, Russian propaganda has increasingly relied on fake quotes from celebrities [6] and the interview format involving notable individuals associated with Ukraine. The interview format, in particular, allows Russian propaganda to spread content that directly provides for the use of affective argumentation, dialogues, and opinion-based statements. Within the framework of considering the spread of Russian propaganda in the international information space, particular attention is devoted to the interview [7] of Y. Mendel, former presidential V. Zelensky press secretary (from 3 June 2019 to 9 July 2021), conducted by the American media figure T. Carlson, who is known for dissemination of disinformation [8, 9], as well as for his ultra-conservative views, promoting conspiracy theories, public opposition to abortion, feminism, LGBTQ+ rights, migration etc. The attention devoted to the aforementioned interview in this study motivated the identified discursive convergences between a significant number of statements articulated by Y. Mendel and the core narratives of Russian propaganda. The aim of this study is to analyze and classify the main discursive correspondences between media manipulations of Russian propaganda and Y. Mendel's statements about Ukraine presented in the interview with T. Carlson. The object of the study is the information discourse on Ukraine, distributed by Russian propaganda within the global media space.
