The metaphoric nature of English banking terminology is one of the actual problems of linguistic and literary researches, which is caused by the stable development of the banking sector, international cooperation, and the development of IT technologies and the IT sector. Scientific publications of such representatives of Ukrainian science as L.V. Bilohorka, T.O. Petrova, N. Akopiants, O.O. Selivanova, etc. and other became the scientific base of this research. The objective of this research is to reveal the nature of the metaphoricity as actual problem in English banking terminology, substantiation of problem-solving proposals and recommendations towards development of the branch of English banking terminology. Main body . According to Ukrainian science, ―The stylistic technique of metaphorization is a powerful and effective mechanism for term formation in economic vocabulary in English language‖ [1, p.154]. At the same time, it should be noted that the metaphorization of definitions and terms has gained special development recently, violating the requirements of Science regarding such properties of a term as ―concreteness‖, ―unambiguity‖, ―brevity‖.
