The article examines the role of budget planning in ensuring economic growth. It is noted that the introduction of medium-term budget planning is a positive step towards increasing the efficiency of the use of financial resources and achieving the strategic goals of the country's socio-economic development. Budget planning affects the stability of the financial system, macroeconomic balance, and the formation of the basis for sustainable economic growth. It is important to optimize the size and structure of budget expenditures for the most effective, economical, and efficient mechanism for achieving the strategic goals of the country's socio-economic development. The article emphasizes the need to use the advantages of the program- target budgeting method in order to increase the level of efficiency of financial resource management, deepen the relationship between budget allocations and effective indicators of budget execution, and promote the effectiveness of budget policy. Mandatory annual assessment of the efficiency and effectiveness of budget program implementation will strengthen the responsibility of participants in the budget process for the validity of appropriate indicators, definition of tasks, and goals.
