382 Hamlet’s bright memories of childhood and his relationship with his father are vividly reflected in the chorale of string instruments in the 2nd movement of the «Quintet». This sublime music helps the viewer to even more fully experience the mood of Hamlet’s reflections, the exquisite lyrics of resentment. The dramatic presentation of tragic images in the play, through its action, passes through the prism of a high, wise worldview. This content is most vividly emphasized by such a mature and masterfully profound musical work as «Quintet». The breadth of the range of all 5 musical instruments, the richness of the texture of the ensemble canvas, and the deep content testify to one of the best pages of Ukrainian music of the 20th century. The co-author of this article, as a pianist and teacher with her students at the National Academy of Music of Ukraine, has performed this music in concerts and exams since the 2000s. At that time, the works of this outstanding Ukrainian composer were not yet popularized anywhere.
