The article explores the key challenges and strategies of translating journalistic texts in the field of modern mass media. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the phenomenon of transediting and the specifics of rendering metaphorical headlines. The role of socio-cultural and ideological contexts in the process of adapting media discourse for a foreign audience is outlined. Keywords: journalistic translation, mass media, transediting, media discourse, metaphorical headline, translation strategy. The modern information environment evolves so rapidly that cross-border exchange of media texts has become a daily necessity. Consequently, the investigation of journalistic translation has separated into an autonomous linguistic field where professionals must exhibit advanced pragmatic flexibility rather than simple bilingual competence. Unlike technical documentation or fiction, publicistic materials target immediate cognitive perception and quick psychological response from the audience. Therefore, the translator's primary task is to reconstruct the precise emotional and communicative effect of the source text, ensuring the final version reads naturally to a foreign audience [1, c. 10].
