The transition to green nanotechnology has highlighted the immense potential of mycelial fungi for synthesizing biogenic magnetic nanoparticles (BMNs). This paper analyzes the mechanisms of extracellular mycogenic synthesis, focusing on Aspergillus niger as a highly efficient cell factory. We emphasize the critical role of the natural biocorona, which provides spatial stabilization, significantly reduces cytotoxicity, and enables straightforward surface functionalization. These unique properties make fungal BMNs fundamentally superior to chemically synthesized analogs for advanced biomedical applications.
