223 Abstract. The article examines the possibilities of using a lapbook in the educational process of primary school as an effective means of developing younger schoolchildren. The essence of the concept of ―lapbook‖, its structure, peculiarities of creation and use during lessons are highlighted. The influence of lapbooks on the development of cognitive activity, creative thinking, speech, communication skills and key competencies of students is analyzed. The advantages of using lapbooks in the context of implementing the concept of the New Ukrainian School are outlined. Examples of the practical use of lapbooks in the educational process are provided.
