152 "Sextet c- moll for piano, two violins, viola, cello, contrabasso " has the form of six variations on its own theme. It reflects romantic national traditions. The co-author of the article performed this piece with students of the National Music Academy of Ukraine in Kyiv back in the 2000s. At that time, Vasyl Barvinsky’s music was not widely promoted. Jeanne Anouilh’s creative path was not easy, but natural, based on the surrounding circumstances. He reflected on the themes of man and life in general. The sympathies of his thoughts and the choice of his priorities were obvious. The characters of the play engage in heated discussions about painful issues of the surrounding life. Human society is divided into classes of varying heights: poor and rich, experienced and young. The playwright saw pure aspirations among the rich, but necessarily the young, or those of them who for some time were deprived of the influence of their environment, their caste. Hypocrisy, selfishness, lust – all this exists in the «world of the poor.» Those who are in it are driven by one dream: to move by any means to the «world of the rich». «The Savage» compares the ugly features of Teresa’s parents, who work as musicians in a small coffee shop, with the heroine’s world, which suffers from their moral mutilation. Suddenly, in this «thorny world» appears the composer Florent, who falls in love with Therese. He is surprised that in a world of lust and vulgarity, Teresa managed to maintain purity, naivety, sincerity, and warmth. The music of the gentle, lyrical 1, 3, 5 variations of the «Sextet» will help the actress in recreating such an image.
