This study explores preparing future educators for continuous professional self-education amid total digitalization. It examines components of digital competence, artificial intelligence integration, and methods to overcome information burnout. Keywords: teacher training, self-education, digitalization, digital competence, artificial intelligence. The current stage of civilization's development is characterized by total digitalization, which transforms not only the economy but also the foundation of social life – education. In conditions where technologies are updated faster than the completion of a single generation's study cycle, the traditional model of "education for life" has finally given way to the concept of "lifelong learning". For a future educator, the ability for self-education becomes not just a desirable trait, but a professional necessity. The problem of preparing future teachers for this process under the conditions of digital transformation is becoming particularly acute. After all, it is the teacher who must become a navigator in the boundless information space, and for this, they must master the mechanisms of independent knowledge acquisition using digital tools. Digitalization of education is not just about saturating institutions with equipment, but about creating a holistic ecosystem that provides unlimited resources for self-education. Today's future educator has access to world libraries, professional communities, and courses from leading global universities on platforms like Coursera, EdX, and Prometheus. However, the vast number of resources creates a problem of choice. Therefore, preparation in higher education institutions (HEIs) should be aimed at forming information-digital competence, which includes: critical evaluation of content – the ability to distinguish scientifically grounded methods from pseudo-pedagogical concepts; technological adaptability – the ability to quickly master new software products (from simple testing services to complex learning management systems (LMS)) ; and personal knowledge management – using digital organizers, cloud storage, and visualization tools (mind maps) to structure self-educational activities. The process of student preparation must be comprehensive and cover several levels. The motivational- value component is the foundation, without which self-education will remain formal. Students must realize that their competitiveness in the labor market directly depends on their activity in self-development. Digitalization acts as a powerful stimulus here: it makes learning interactive, mobile, and personalized. The cognitive component requires the future educator to possess a theoretical basis regarding distance and blended learning methodologies. It is important to understand how search engine algorithms work, how to use artificial intelligence to optimize lesson preparation, and how to work with Big Data to analyze student progress. The activity-practical component involves direct participation in digital projects. Creating a personal electronic portfolio, developing original digital lessons, and maintaining educational blogs or channels are forms of self-education that allow students to transition from passive consumers of information to active content creators. A separate important aspect of modern preparation is the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into professional development. AI can serve as a personal tutor for the teacher: helping in learning foreign languages to access English-language scientific sources; generating ideas for creative tasks and interactive exercises; and performing rapid summarization of large texts, which saves time when familiarizing oneself with new scientific publications. Studying AI capabilities should become a mandatory component of self-
