98 Strategic employment of EW is paramount for the protection of high-value assets (HVAs) and major population centers. Neutralization of Enemy Aviation Infrastructure One of the most effective methods to mitigate the threat is conducting kinetic strikes against enemy airfields, Ammunition Supply Points (ASPs), and technical support bases. Disrupting the logistics chain complicates aviation preparation and reduces the intensity of GABs employment. Such actions may include: • Runway (RWY) interdiction strikes; • Destruction of ASPs; • Engagement of aircraft at their home stations; • Attacks on sustainment and maintenance infrastructure. Camouflage, Concealment, and Deception (CCD) and Combat Engineering The effectiveness of KAB strikes can be mitigated through the engineering of positions and the employment of CCD measures. These actions complicate enemy ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) and target acquisition. Core measures include: • Establishment of shelters and fortifications; • Employment of decoys; • Camouflage of equipment and depots; • Continuous displacement of units. These methods do not eliminate the threat entirely but significantly reduce attrition rates. Development of Early Warning Systems (EWS) Timely detection of carrier aircraft and GABs releases enables a rapid tactical response. To achieve this, the following assets are utilized: • Early Warning Radar (EWR) stations; • Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs); • Satellite Intelligence (SATINT); • Automated Data Transmission Systems.
