119 In the fable, the character of the Jackdaw embodies noble ideals. Her primary goal is to uplift the spirit, raise morale, and transform the surrounding negativity. Since the fable is a concise literary form, in our practical work with students, we explored the depths of the Jackdaw‘s inner world using an etude-based method to identify the factors that shaped her into such an exemplary character. Working practically on these productions fostered our professional growth alongside the student actors. Two years of painstaking rehearsal with students from the Karpenko-Karyi Kyiv National University of Theatre, Cinema and Television enabled us to successfully present the work at acting examinations and in the university‘s student theater. Throughout the 2026 semester, our performances played to sold-out houses.
