Chernobyl: 40 Years Later… (1986–2026) : Monograph / S. I. Tabachnikov, O. A. Panchenko, V. V. Babiienko, O. S. Osukhovska , et al. ; Under the General Editorship of S. I. Tabachnikov. – Sherman Oaks, CA: GS Publishing Services, 2026. – 272 p. – Точка доступу: https://arkasfamily.mk.ua/images/books/riz/Chernobyl/index.html
This monograph presents the findings of the Medical and Rehabilitation Task Force of the Ministry of Health of the Ukrainian SSR, led by Professor Stanislav Tabachnikov. The task force was established under the mandate of the government of the former USSR and by the executive order of the Minister of Health of the Ukrainian SSR, Anatoliy Romanenko, to mitigate the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster. The team operated directly at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant from November 1986 to October 1987, as well as within the «Spetsatom» production association (Pripyat, 1988) and the «Kombinat» association (Chernobyl, 1988–1989).
Furthermore, the book details the ongoing activities of the State Non-Profit Enterprise “Scientific and Practical Medical Rehabilitation and Diagnostic Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine,” headed by Professor Oleh Panchenko. Since 1991, the Center’s staff has provided continuous medical and rehabilitative care to Chernobyl recovery workers (liquidators). The pioneering experience of the original Task Force served as the foundation for the development, testing, and implementation of a comprehensive system for mental hygiene, prevention, psychotherapy, and rehabilitation of borderline mental disorders among nuclear power plant personnel, including mission-critical operational staff.
Special emphasis is placed on the long-term medical and environmental consequences of the Chernobyl catastrophe.
Target Audience: The publication is intended for psychotherapists, psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, radiologists, nutritionists, reflexologists, manual therapists, massage therapists, and all those dedicated to understanding and addressing the legacy of the Chernobyl tragedy.
This monograph is published in the Ukrainian language.
